This is a plain-language summary of what Suppertime keeps, who sees it, and how to delete it.

Last updated October 31, 2026

What this app keeps

  • Your name and email, and how you sign in.
  • Your household: its name, the people in it, your stores, and your taste notes.
  • Your recipes, including photos of recipe cards you add.
  • Your weekly plans, shopping lists, ratings, and the dinners you mark made.
  • Your freezer and pantry list, and voice notes you record for it.
  • How the app gets used (which screens open, when a plan gets built) and error reports, so we can fix problems.

Who sees it

  • The people in your household. Nobody in another household sees your recipes, plans, lists or ratings.
  • Tom runs the app. As admin he sees counts for each household (how many recipes, whether a plan got built, when it was last opened), the feedback you send, and error reports. He doesn't see your recipes, plans, lists or ratings.

Who handles it

  • Supabase stores the data, the photos, and the voice notes, and runs sign-in.
  • Vercel runs the app.
  • OpenAI runs the AI features, only for people who tap Allow. That's reading recipe card photos, recipe links and fridge photos, turning voice notes and typed notes into recipes and freezer lists, building Game Plans, changing a recipe, suggesting dinners, learning from your taste notes, picking the sides on a pattern night, finding new recipes on the web, and reading the screenshots you attach to feedback so Tom can see what went wrong.
  • Apify, only when you paste an Instagram, TikTok or Facebook post. It gets the link to that public post and nothing about you, and hands back the caption and the video.
  • Google, only if you sign in with Google.

What goes to OpenAI

  • Only what each feature needs: a recipe card photo, a photo of your fridge, a recipe link's page text, a pasted post's caption and spoken words, a voice note, what you type, a recipe's text, your recipe names, your household's taste notes and stores, and a feedback screenshot with the note you sent beside it.
  • The recipe finder sends your answers (how long, what kind of food, the main thing, what to use up), the line you type, your taste notes, and the foods you avoid. Nothing else.
  • Not your email or password.
  • OpenAI's rules for apps like this say it doesn't use this data to train its models. OpenAI may keep it up to 30 days to watch for abuse.
  • You can turn AI off anytime in Settings. Planning, shopping, the freezer list, and Cook Now's steps still work without it.

What we don't do

  • No ads. We don't sell your data. We don't share it for marketing.

Shared recipe links

  • Anyone with a shared link can see that recipe. Turn sharing off on the recipe to stop it.

Kids

  • The app isn't for kids to sign up on their own. A grown-up in the house adds kids to the household.

Deleting your account

  • Household, then Delete my account. Your login goes, and so do your ratings.
  • If you're the last grown-up in your household, the whole household goes too: recipes, photos, voice notes, plans, lists, and the freezer list.
  • Deleted means deleted. We can't bring it back.
